Running IE7. When I receive notification from this (microsoft newsgroup)
forum and I click response to read and rate response, page opens says it's
done (bottom left) but displays nothing other than a blan white screen. ??
Have to go long way round to get here. Grateful for resolution

Such behavior is largely due to a malformed link in the email notification,
an issue that's plague those using the web-interface to access the
newsgroups for nearly a year now.

Access the newsgroups using OE for a much better experience:

Accessing the MS newsgroups in Outlook Express Newsreader
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroupsetup.mspx

Setting up Outlook Express to access Microsoft newsgroups
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

PS #1: I think you originally posted in
microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web newsgroup, not IE6 Browser:

PS #2: Those with IE7-specific questions or comments are asked to post to
and seek support in this newsgroup:
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In your newsreader:

Thanks for this information. Since I tick to receive notification of
responses, it's not unexpected to be able to click on the link to read and
rate reply. If there is a known problem which has been around for nearly a
year, I am greatly surprised, with the wealth of talent and expertise
available, this hasn't been fixed. Perhaps the problem is to difficult.

I have access via OE but I prefer to access the way I have been using for a
long time.
