Are you also running IE6 in Windows 2000 SP4? If not, begin a new thread in
an appropriate newsgroup about your problem.

I reinstalled Netscape, then downloaded Netscape Navigator and that works
great. Before doing so I tried to restore to 7-8 earlier settings and was
told nothing had changed...lol
Anyway, too bad Netscape is out of business now so what you get with
Navigator is it, hope fully the masses have done their error reporting so
they can get a fix in on this one.

We have had a few W2K machines that recently started being unable to launch
IE6 without freezing. Here's our fix:

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced | Browsing |
Uncheck “Enable third party browser extensions (requires restart)” | OK.
Restart IE.

It may not deal with the underlying cause, but it worked.
