When I add a print variable (such as &w &u) to the header or footer, when
printing the font is too large to fit on the page. How can I set the font
size in the header or footer to a smaller font?

Sorri but AFAIK, there is no way in IE6 of changing the header/footer
font independently of the body size (changed though View-Text Size)
I asked the IE team years ago for this but to no avail.

Someone may know of a 3rd party application but I have never found
one.

End users can't. There is third-party programming support for this
you can search for--some even mentioned previously in this newsgroup.

To see those previous discussions you would probably have to search
using Google Groups though and not with the web interface to newsgroups
that you are using because I don't remember this being requested in here
for at least a year and it's not somethng which would be likely to be voted on
to be retained.
