I have two computers where when I go into Internet Explorer Options menu,
make a change, and then go to Apply the change, IE locks up, and becomes
unresponsive. I have to go into Task Manager to kill it. Downloading IE7 is
not an option because some in-house sites I use won't open in IE7.

I have looked at all of the configurations and can't find anything different
from other computers that work properly. I have run virus scans (McAfee) and
third party scans (AdAware and Spybot) and nothing is coming up. I have
removed and reloaded IE6. I've downloaded all updates for IE6 in Windows
Update. I have also run IEFix and nothing is resolving this issue. Any
thoughts?

Please state the full Windows versions (e.g., WinXP SP3; Win2K SP4) of the
machines in question.

How did you "remove and reload" IE6?
