Turn off ads, pictures, animation, etc

I'm tired of all the ads, pictures, animation, etc that is on every website
and hordes memory and bandwidth thus, decreasing load times. How can I turn
this garbage off. I've tried unselecting pictures in the advanced tab of IE,
but it immediately gets rechecked by something. Thanks in advance for your
time.

I want to help you but I need more specific info. Are you running IE 6 or
IE7 and are you referring to pop ups? Get back to me and I will see what I
can do
