error on opening up a file in IE7

i get this message when i click to open a media file like JPG or AVI
file. :

"microsoft visual C++ runtime Library"
runtime error
program c:\windows\explorer.exe

-this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual
way -


it doesnt happen all the time.maybe one in ten .
im vius and malware free
