I use IE and Firefox 3.0. In IE, I want to stop seeing messages like
this:

This website wants to run the following add-on: Remote Data Services
Data Control" from 'Microsoft Corporation'. If you trust the web site
and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here..

How do I disable seeing this message?

thanks

PS. I get a lot of messages, wanting to install Goggle toolbar.

By changing the security settings to default. Tools, Internet Options,
Security,

Now click on 4 pictures one by one and change the security settings to
default.

Click OK and you are done.

Alternatively, it could be Firefox 3.0 messing around with Internet
Explorer settings. They are rivals after all!! Just remove it and you
are done!

The prompts are being caused by the webpages you're visiting.

I agree with this espically when this was part of the source:

<!--START GOOGLE ANALYTICS CODE-->
<script type="text/java script">
vary gashes = (("http's:" == document.location.protocol) ?
"https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost +
"google-analytics.com/ga.js'
type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-3922003-1");
pageTracker._initData();
pageTracker._trackPageview();
</script>
<!--END GOOGLE ANALYTICS CODE-->

Hey David,
There are couple of things that you can try this:

Go to Internet Options ->Security -> select internet-> Custom Level
Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls - Disable
Download unsigned ActiveX Controls - Enable
Download signed ActiveX Controls - Enable
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins - Enable
Scripting of Java applerts - Enable
Active Scripting - Enable

and this using regedit to set this registry entries:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_LOCALMACHINE_LOCKDOWN]
@=""
"explorer.exe"=dword:00000000
"msimn.exe"=dword:00000000
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000
"wmplayer.exe"=dword:00000000

set them all to 0

I want to worn you that this settings will LOWER your security significantly
but it will eliminate allot of pop-up spam. I hope that helps.
