W2k sp4 desktop, IE6 with old Google toolbar.

Certain sites give me an blank screen and a "done" message with IE6.

Every morn when I first log on Gmail, for instance. Usually works OK
after I refresh once. Doesn't recur all day.

Just ran into this one:

http://www.ultimatehunts.com/

For this, nothing works. Refreshed 5 times: still no display.

Any help much appreciated.

Uninstall Google Toolbar & test.
Uninstalled. Tested. Apparently no more blank screens.

Now what? Should I install the latest/greatest Google toolbar?

Thx,
P

Yes, give it a whirl. Older versions of Google Toolbar have been wreaking
havoc in Win2K for several months now. Dunno why but the newest version
(possibly a beta) apparently doesn't have the same affect, PM.

I installed Google Toolbar 4.0.xxxx. So far, so good.

Curious about the old version: I've been running it for years.

Thanks,
P

If memory serves, the older versions started creating problems in Win2K
(especially) after the release of MS08-031 (Cumulative Security Update for
IE) on 10 Jun-08. MS08-031 addressed two specific security vulnerabilites;
