I need to reinstall IE6. My current browser keeps closing itself and is
probably corrupted. I went to the Microsoft download center, but all they
offer is "updates". I need to reinstall the program. Where can I find it?
Thanks

What makes you think reinstalling IE6 will resolve the
problem?

Did anyone mention reinstalling IE6 in replies to your previous thread? =>

Have you posted your HijackThis log in an appropriate forum for review by an
expert yet?

Have you uninstalled Yahoo and Google toolbars yet to see if the crashing
behavior persists?

Is your NAV subscription current?

OK Bear, I'm a simple guy, all that other stuff (posting hijack logs,
removing tool bars, etc., etc.) just overloaded my coping ability. Sooooo, I
downloaded Mozilla Firefox and it worked like a charm. No "I'm gonna close
now!" or application hangs. Then I backed up and opened with IE6 and the same
problems persisted. Soooo, being a simple guy, I figure that something has
corrupted IE6 and reinstalling it would be the simple solution. Hope that
answers your question(s).

Reinstalling IE6 will not fix the problem. Reinstalling Windows will.

Have you tried uninstalling Yahoo and Google toolbars yet?? Both have been
causing problems in IE lately for some users.

Not to mention the problems often incurred by installing a third party browser.

What problems would those be? OP had problems *before* installing Mozilla
Firefox. AFAIK, Fx does not use any MSIE hooks. I've had Mozilla Firefox
installed on several computers, running alongside of MSIE with no problems.
I've got Firefox, SeaMonkey and Opera all running alongside of MSIE7 on my
own computer, with no problems.

I always rip out the bundled BHOs (Google on HP Pavilions with Windows XP,
Yahoo! on HP Pavilions with Windows Vista). And refuse to let them install
when offered as bundled options when installing the likes of Irfanview.

BHOs are more problematic that third party browsers.
