This is because those who are running IE6 are not having any problems.
And the vast majority of IE6 problems today isn't due to IE6 bugs, but
just many websites don't support IE6 anymore.
And if you think IE6 is bad, you should try Firefox 2. I am stuck at FF2
on my Xandros machine because the kernel won't support anything newer.
And I don't feel like recompiling a new one. And FF2 makes many webpages
look like junk.

Yeah I saw that a few months ago. Although 2.4% still number in the
millions no less. Not a small number.

While IE6 is the last version that can run on win-98/Me, it doesn't
mean users of those OS's must actually use IE6 because there are
several other, BETTER alternatives, such as firefox and opera. And
with the help of KernelEx, win-9x/me users can run opera 11.
Neither Firefox nor Opera are good browsers IMHO. Firefox is worthless
without lots of add-ons. Although running FF with add-ons turn FF into
crap. So that is worthless. And Opera many things never work right.
Forms, drop down menus, etc.

Microsoft at a time when it thought it could define and control web
standards by designing IE6 to not be compatible with existing web
standards, forcing websites to host web-code specifically for IE6.
Since 90% of desktop users use Windows, they had every right to do so.
It was far faster and better under those Microsoft standards. Now we are
stuck with that W3C crap standard. I don't know why anybody listens to
them. They don't speak for the majority of computer users, so what do
they know? And I am not for any group that sets them up as gods and tell
us how we are going to do things. We just don't need them and the world
would be a better place.

versions of IE more in-line with established html standards and
advocating that users migrate away from IE6 to these newer versions.
And we see the newer IE versions turn to crap like the many other
browsers out there. Like Firefox and Opera. I don't see this as better.
Dumbing down all browsers is not a good thing! I say allow browser
developers to be creative and let's see what they can come up with! This
is what creates the best of the best! And we end users all win when that
happens. ;-)
