Problems Installing Adobe Flash Player 10

I am having trouble installing Adobe Flash Player 10. I have run the
uninstaller, rebooted, attempted to install again, and every other idea I
could think of. Several of the sites I found when searching for help
mentioned stuff about the Windows Registry be a cause of problems when
installing Flash, and there were links to several sites that offered
downloadable utilities that supposedly fix these. However, I would like to
know what exactly the problems in the Registry are, because I don't
completely trust free Registry utilities (not to mention some of them
weren't as "free" as they say they are). Can somebody help me here? Thanks.

Hello, I have always had problems installing from the Adobe site.
First download and save file from another site:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
Then remove old file from Add/Remove, remove any links,folders etc.
Install the file you downloaded and saved, by double clicking on the file.
This always works for me, hope it works for you.

Hello, I have always had problems installing from the Adobe site.
First download and save file from another site:http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
Then remove old file from Add/Remove, remove any links,folders etc.
Install the file you downloaded and saved, by double clicking on the file.

Thanks for this suggestion. For hours I have done everything in the
book to get Adobe 10 to install on IE with no luck. I came across your
suggestion, tried it and it worked LIKE A CHARM. Many Thanks for the
post.and a successful, simple solution.

Adobe Flash Player Installation Help

(1) Try installing the Windows Installer version.

Right-click these links, choose "save-as" and download it.

Unfortunately, it is still not working for me. I didn't mention it in any of
my previous postings, because I thought it was specific to the site I am
visiting that uses the Flash Player, but the error I recieve says:

Error: Unexpected call to method or property access.

Also, I thought I had the settings in IE correct, but maybe I missed one. If
possible, could you tell me the settings that are required to be set to a
certain value? Thanks.

Check your Add-Ons control and make sure that Adobe Flash Player
isn't set to disabled.

The specific page/site that I am having trouble getting to work is the
following:

When I initially go to the page, I recieve a dialog that says:

A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?

Line: 69
"Error: Unexpected call to method or property access."

After I click "No", it displays a screen with a link to and asking me if I
want to download and install Flash Player. After I click this link and do
the installation (which is entirely automatic, so I know I didn't do
anything wrong there), I go back to the page/site again after closing and
reopening the browser. It no longer asks me to install Flash Player, but it
still doesn't work. What am I missing? Thanks.

That it's probably a problem with Flash, not IE.
For example, all I get when I visit that site, since I don't use Flash is:

Perhaps the problem *is* "the latest version"? ; )
Then you could try installing one of the earlier ones instead.
Again, though, you would probably get more informed help
from Adobe or other Flash users (ColTom2's suggestion.)

I have tried installing earlier versions, after about two weeks of trying to
get Flash 10 to work, I tried Flash 9 and Flash 8. After dealing with them
for about another week, I searched Adobe's site for help that I could
contact (I had already spent hours searching the entire Web for online
help), but Adobe's site says that only online help is provided for Flash (I
couldn't even find a paid incident phone number or email address!)

Unfortunately, it is still not working for me. I didn't mention it in any
of my previous postings, because I thought it was specific to the

Also, I thought I had the settings in IE correct, but maybe I missed one.
If possible, could you tell me the settings that are required to be set
to a certain value? Thanks.

Adobe Flash Player Installation Help
(1) Try installing the Windows Installer version.
Right-click these links, choose "save-as" and download it.

(2) Flash uses ActiveX, try resetting IE's Security Zones.
(3) Create then import this registry file to remove the kill-bit for
Adobe Flash.
1. Copy below and paste into Notepad.

I am having trouble installing Adobe Flash Player 10. I have run the
uninstaller, rebooted, attempted to install again, and every other idea
I could think of. Several of the sites I found when searching for help
mentioned stuff about the Windows Registry be a cause of problems when
installing Flash, and there were links to several sites that offered
downloadable utilities that supposedly fix these. However, I would like
to know what exactly the problems in the Registry are, because I don't
completely trust free Registry utilities (not to mention some of them
weren't as "free" as they say they are). Can somebody help me here? Thanks.

I have tried installing earlier versions, after about two weeks of trying
to get Flash 10 to work, I tried Flash 9 and Flash 8. After dealing with
them for about another week, I searched Adobe's site for help that I could
contact (I had already spent hours searching the entire Web for online
help), but Adobe's site says that only online help is provided for Flash (I
couldn't even find a paid incident phone number or email address!)

I believe Adobe offers free email support(via what they call a "Web Case")
for Flash Player installation problems only, you might turn here next:

1. Go to the Adobe Support Portal:
http://www.adobe.com/go/supportportal/

2. When you get to the Support Portal page, click on the Button that says:
"Create an Account"

3. Once you've created an account with Adobe and you're logged in to that
Account, at the bottom of the page use the selector to select:

"Installation Help"

4. In the 'Choose product' category put a tick in the radial next to:

"Additional products"

5. From the selection menu select:

"Adobe Flash Player"

6. Now click the button that says "Continue"

You will taken to a page entitled:
"Create a support case"

7. Here you can type your support request and send it to Adobe

I visited the settings manager page, and all the settings looked
correct.
I

Get "what" to work? It sounds as if you already have Flash installed.

They have user forums which work similar to newsgroups.
Actually I guess they work similar to other vendors' forums
because there is occasional input from what appears to be
Adobe staff too.

Another option I think would be one of the Flash debug versions.
However, I don't know exactly what they do; I would just assume
that they may have better diagnostics for those who are interested
in getting better clues about their problem symptoms. ; )
