On my old computer, I could see the URLs of links in the bar at the bottom of
the browser when I hovered the cursor over them. On my new computer the URLs
don't show up unless I right-click the links. Could anyone tell me how I can
fix this?

Have you checked View-Status Bar so it is showing?

If so, please try the IE7 group.
The recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If you must use a web interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
