Is there a quick way to sort my favorites folders and links to display
folders at top of the listing and other links which are not in folders after
folders?

I have been dragging folders to the top....but is is slow and tedious.

Can they also be sorted A-Z Folders
And other links A-Z

Thanks PA Bear
I thought that might be the answer.
Just wanted to confirm I wasn't overlooking anything.

Have you tried renaming your Folders so they would all have that property?
E.g. perhaps you could prefix each Folder name with an @ sign?

Hmm... I just tried that with one. Then used right-click Sort by Name
and it appears to have done what you want with all of them anyway. ; )

So probably all you need to do is just drag one, which would stop
the sorting by name attribute; then reapply the Sort by Name attribute;
then close and reopen the Favorites bar.

What happens? ; )

BTW if this works, the real work would be for someone who wants
folders sorted at the top but files in a custom order underneath.
E.g. then the custom order underneath would have to be reapplied
each time Sort by Name was reapplied. Therefore, dragging folders
might usually be the preferred solution.

Good luck

Thinks for the thinking mans reply.
When you mentioned use the "Sort by Name" option in the Favourites menu.....
I thought .....where's that.....

So I googled and found this link...
http://www.runpcrun.com/node/207

The error I made was to click on the "Favorites Yellow Star" to organise my
favorites.....as one might expect such features to be found with in the
organise dialog...... I right clicked everywhere......no joy!

But then I should know better to realise that there are 2 logical paths to
access favorites.....one is not enough..... may be I should have been looking
for the "Disorganise" option....eh....mmm..... but that came naturally!

Many thanks again for you explanation.

Sorted! :)

Which means you're not running IE6.
