I have a file that I cannot delete, and when I try I get errors. This may
not be the correct forum, but here is the problem. I found a file on my
computer, and when I asked about it, I was told that they downloaded a video
file. When I try to delete it, I get the following error "Runtime error
Program C:windows.explorer.exe R6002 Floating point support not loaded"
then it goes to blue screen and then back to the screen with all the icon. I
ran Adware, and restarted, ran avast anti virus. It still is there. I am
running Windows XP 64x.. Any suggestions on how to get this file out?

Asked? Who? The "video file" is the file you want to delete?

Capture the path to the file, e.g. right-click, Copy in the Address bar.
Switch to a cmd window (aka Command Prompt) and type there
cd /d
(plus a space) and then right-click Paste. Then you can delete the file
or change its attributes etc. with command line commands which won't
involve Windows Explorer's application program, in whatever mode
it is in.

Good luck

I tried right clicking the file name, but that only brings up the error.
Thanks for the response and the crossposting.

That's the malware protecting itself. Run one of these, maybe from Safe
Mode if they can't circumvent the malware:

Malwarebytes© Corporation

SuperAntispyware

Did you try going to a cmd window at all? The right-click I suggested
was in the Explorer window's Address bar which wouldn't refer to the
file you are trying to delete, just be the path to it.

In any case it looks as if you are being served in the other newsgroup.

BTW you can drop the cross-post if you like and just continue to followup
in the other newsgroup. Just use the Advanced Options button at the
bottom of your reply window and delete this newsgroup name from the
cross-post list.

Good luck
