Update - Microsoft Responds to the Evolution of Community

What is Happening?

Microsoft wants more control over the discussions of it's products.

Why?

Because the sales of it's recent products (Vista, 7, Office 2007, etc)
is slow, and it thinks that's because of the existance of uncontrolled
support venues for older products.

Which Newsgroups Are Affected by this Shutdown?
Microsoft will be closing newsgroups in a phased approach, starting
with the least active newsgroups and moving eventually to more
active ones throughout the course of the next six months.
When will this Happen?
Effective June 1, 2010 this newsgroup will be closed.

LOL.

Microsoft thinks this newsgroup is one of it's "least active".

It's more like IE6 is one of it's "least liked" products.
