Good Morning to all,

I hope you can help me fix this problem. I use Outlook and just lately
(about a month or so), every time a click on the firat e-mail link to open up
a browser window, a box comes up called 'locate link browser'. I usually just
cancel this and then the browser window opens anyway, but I can't understand
why it does this first ?

After this when I click on a link in an e-mail, this box doesn't appear. Its
only the very first link I click.

I hope you can help me with this as it just delays my browsing experience.

Regards,

Miss. Caroline Thom

Sounds like a bug in IE8 Beta 2 or possibly a horked install of same. As
such, I'm going to ask you to repost in the IE Beta newsgroup:
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta

Via the web-interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta

Via your newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta

NB: IE8 Release Candidate 1 (RC1) was released today. Since you have IE8
Beta 2 installed, IE8 RC1 will be offered by Automatic Updates. However, I
would NOT recommend upgrading for 2 reasons:

1. Your problem with OL may be related to a horked install of IE8 Beta 2.
Upgrading to IE8 RC1 may just compound the problem.

2. If you installed IE8 Beta 2 and then installed WinXP SP3, you will NOT be
able to uninstall IE8 RC1 or WinXP SP3, should the need arise. See...

Upgrading to Internet Explorer 8 Release Candidate 1
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/01/26/upgrading-to-internet-explorer-8-release-candidate-1.aspx

Good luck! (Personally, I'd uninstall IE8 Beta 2 and see if the problem
persists in your previous IE version (e.g., IE7 or IE6.)
