I have rearranged my toolbars to reflect my preferences. After I close the
browser my settings are now kept and when I reopen the toolbars resort to a
default configuration. How do I keep the toolbars set to preferences?

Please state your IE version full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista
SP1) when posting to this newsgroup.

What third-party toolbars are installed (e.g., Google; Yahoo; etc.)?

I am running WinXP SP3. In addition to the toolbars, the outside toolbars
installed are GOOGLE, McAfee Site advisor, and Paypal.

The problem started well after these toolbars were installed. About a week
ago, everytime I open IE I get a default configuration. If I close any
toolbar or change positions, all memory of them is gone if I close down or
even if I open a second window. Any thoughts?

At least one of those toolbars (i.e., Google) has its own idea of where it
should be located. See if uninstalling PayPal Toolbar resolves the problem.
