PA Bear:
Purchased Norton Internet Security 2009 (includes Norton Antivirus) from
retail store. Instructed by salesman that the existing Norton 2004 (NIS &
Norton Antivirus) would automatically be removed during installation of new
program. However, received Error window so went to the Norton Removal tool
which I had previously saved some time ago,but received notice that IT WAS
OUTDATED. The current removal tool was offered and then installation was
successfully completed. Whew!!! I'm beginning a new line of Links, and as I
had mentioned, will chalk it all up to a new learning experience. Tx again!

June, always reply to your original thread. In this instance, you should
have replied to my last reply in your original thread (pasted below).
Thanks for this follow-up just the same.

Did you upgrade from Norton 2004 to Norton 2009 or did you uninstall
Norton
2004, run the Norton Removal Tool, and then install Norton 2009?
Does "Norton 2004" = Norton AntiVirus, Norton System Works, or Norton
Internet Security?
Does "Norton 2009" = Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, or Norton
360?
Have answered Robert's message above in response to "MISSING
LINK"......No
items in LINKS line or in Favourites Link.
Still had 6 days left of old Norton 2004 subscription when I installed
the
new Norton 2009 on April 17/09....had a little difficulty with errors
when
installing even though I disabled everything but forgot about the Windowa
Firewall....will chalk it all up to a learning experience. Tx for your
help....I have learned much from reading your letters in answer to other
problems. June.
"PA Bear [MS MVP]" ..
Are they still listed in the Links folder in Favorites?
When (date) did your NAV 2004 subscription expire? When did you install
NAV (?) 2009?
Win XP Pro SP3
Dim 4800
IE 6
Have just noticed that all items which I had placed on the LINKS line on
I
Explorer have disappeared. The only change to my PC was to install
Norton
2009 on April 20th.. replacing an old Norton 2004. I also used the
Norton
Removal tool as part of the process.
Can someone enlighten me if there is a way to bring the LINK items back,
or
should I install IE 8 ? Feel comfortable with IE 6 and hesitate to have
to
relearn a new program.I am 79 years old , and some of my brain cells are
gone!!! Will appreciate some feedback. June.
