Opening url pointing to .asx file
(too old to reply)

Hello,
I have a link to the online radio:
http://www.(....)/program1M.asx which used to start VLC player.
I prefer to use Windows Media Player so I changed the file association
(.asx) from VLC to WMP.
But now when I click on that link IE displays: "IE cannot display that
page).
If I put that link directly into WMP there is not a problem.
My question is:
What to create (or set up) to have that link starting WMP?
Thanks,
Claire

I am not developing anything.
I need a help how to set up IE (or Windows) for that link to start WMP.
It must be something very simple.
If VLC can be started by that link why not WMP?

Oh, it's not your web-page?

You will find support for WMP in this public newsgroup:

No, it is not my website.
It is the IE shortcut on my desktop.
You do not know the answer?
I think it is something simple related how IE and Windows are set up.

That is not good solution for me.
I want to have both: WMP and VLC.
I want WMP to use for radio only (WMP is good, because it does not stop dead
as VLC when stream is interrupted)
and use VLC to play videos.
