column width change

I use a 3 column format for my ie6 and ie7 display. Several times in the
past, the column widths changed for no apparent reason. It usually returned
to normal in an hour or so with no action required. I attributed the
problem to my.msn.com which I use as my home page.

I recently changed to ie7 and it has performed normally until today. Now,
the first column covers about 80% of the page. When I drag the column
boundaries so that columns 2 and 3 show normally, as soon as I release the
mouse button, it snaps back to the 80% column 1 format. No amount of
"fiddling" will make it retain the 3 column configuration.

Any help will be appreciated

As Gilda Radner would have said, "never mind"

I solved my problem by deleting the offending 80% width column, then
selecting a new blank column. I populated the new column with the same
items as the old one and, voila, problem solved.

I have no idea of what caused the original problem or why it refused to
accept my re-sizing efforts.
